Light a candle for 26/11 and Show you remember
I just light a candle for 26/11.
It is time to show that we have neither forgiven nor forgotten 26/11.
It is time to remember those who paid with their lives for the fanaticism of
a few, to salute those who gave up their lives trying to shield others, and
to honor those who survived the ordeal of terror.
It is time to light a candle, to show that as we move on, we cherish their
memories, we value their sacrifice and we hail their courage.

The Option is yours...
It presents a medley of opportunities and challenges alike to one and all, with no discriminations whatsoever. Then why is it that some of us tend to lead peaceful, fulfilling lives while an abject, strife-torn existence is the fate of others? The logic is clear - each individual opts for his own options and traverses life accordingly.
Savants have endorsed the need to lead a truly simple and uncomplicated life. It need not be the two extremes of the spectrum - a highly flamboyant or a starkly austere life. In fact, a life of balance and moderation is desired. But more often than not, to propitiate our base instincts, we create in society a façade about our status, power and affluence. And to live up to this cosmetic image, we give in to corruption, conceit and compromise.
The choice is ours - either we choose to suffer with a delusional lifestyle or adhere to one that is genuine; that we are comfortable with. Be true to yourself.
Money, to an extent, is essential for happiness and comfort. However, an evolved perspective enables harmonious integration of material prosperity and spiritual progress. After achieving a comfortable level of financial security, choosing the right direction is vital. Pause and think. A wise person would overcome greed and look towards following a finer, humane and creative path.
We can maximise our happiness by minimising two habits - expectations and comparisons. When we have high expectations of others, especially our near and dear ones, we invariably end up getting hurt. Similarly, making comparisons can cause negative emotions like discontentment, jealousy and an unhealthy competitive spirit. So the ball is in our court, so to speak, as we need to make the right choice.
Often, we make our life onerous by nursing secret grudges and resentments against others who may be totally oblivious of our acrimonious feelings. This self-created baggage will only perpetuate the uncalled-for miseries and intricacies of our life. Cultivate a generous disposition - forgive, forget and move on in life. Life will never stagnate. Such a wise decision can only bring peace and joy.
We are gregarious beings, living in society. Relationships are an inevitable component of our existence. We can nurture robust, loving and transparent relationships or choose to tarnish them with selfishness, malevolence and deceit. The former will promote equanimity and smoothness in life while the latter will cause rancour and perpetual turmoil.
Life, however, may not always be rewarding. During troubled times, we need to maintain an unwavering faith in Divine functioning. A trusting, non-resistant attitude will help us embrace reality gracefully. Accept the world the way it is rather than brood over its imperfections. A negative attitude will certainly not alter reality - the option is in our own hands!
For true, undiluted happiness, it is imperative to live in the present. Past is a grave and the future is unknown. Living in the present moment is what can yield positive results. Again, the choice is ours. Simply pondering over past miseries and not learning lessons will make us cling to the past in sadness. It is only when we wisely embrace the lessons that we let go of the past and move on in life to brighten our present.
Hence, when we make wisdom and righteousness an intrinsic part of our being, our options will never be flawed. We can choose the right path, right conduct, right thought and right speech. Our life will tend to be in perfect alignment with Divine expectations!

The Reflection within YOU...
| Its You!!!
One day, all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written: "Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym." At first everyone was sad to hear that one of their colleagues had died, but after a while they started getting curious about who this person might be. The excitement grew as the employees arrived at the gym to pay their last respects. Everyone wondered: "Who is this person who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he is no longer here!"
There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: "There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU. " YOU are the only person who can revolutionize your life. YOU are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. YOU are the only person who can help yourself.
The most important relationship you can have, is the one you have with yourself " Examine yourself, watch yourself. Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: be a winner, build yourself and your reality.

Familial Ties of the Fraternity
Nice !
Spending quality time with your family ! We did today with mine and it was most rewarding. Sometimes we forget that how the little ones that we first saw in a crib soon after they were born have now flourished into a full grown adult, ready to take on the challenges of the world, ready to give opinion and ready to fight on your side !
We have always enjoyed these warm and affectionate moments. They give a sense of strength and togetherness. Of being in the company of one that are your familial relations, one that shall stand by you, give suggestion but diligently obey and protect you.
We are surprised at times how we as the elders never forget the fact that they have now grown and are capable of doing things on their own. For a Father it is always the matter of providing for all. We forget, or at best are always conscious of the fact, that we must protect the interest of the family first. That we are all a part of a relay team and that passing the baton to the other is mandatory. Pass it on with the speed with which you wish the next member to take off, with a firm grip before it is taken over, and then see the team runner off safely, on to the next leg of the race. If you have led till the baton is passed, you provide a sizable gap or advantage for the next and wish that he either improve on the lead or at least maintain it till it reaches the next member. If for some reason you have not been able to provide the lead in the distance of your lap then you wish that the next, covers that lag and comes out in front, and then to the next and the next.
Generations of family fraternity have wished for this simple practice ever. To be the first to lead in the relay, pass it on to the next and finally to see them emerge victorious in the end. Nothing could be more satisfying than this.
It is important then that members of the relay understand the strategy much before the race begins, to plot and plan a course of action that shall bring them up to the finishing line first. That is the race, the competition, the eventual deliverance of fraternity, of life.
As a member of the family fraternity I would wish to sit and talk and understand the strategy for life, for the way forward, for accomplishment and for result. It is the norm. And so when we sit with each other and spend time, they are the most glorious moments. They are my friend first, and a relative later. This we had decided even when they had not seen the daylight of life.
We talk of everything under the sun. Our choice of a sports team and its performance, choice of what we wear, choice of music, choice of film, choice of car, choice to drive it …
And on …
The pleasure of company. The joy of exchange. The hand of assurance. The feel of security.
That to us is what such relationship spells. We know no other, and shall God willing, know no other. We held their hand when they took those very first steps on their own. They we will hold each other's hands, as I shall take my last. The baton would have passed on to him safely and hopefully with the lead he may desire. It will now be upto them to run the rest of the lap in advantage.
May every family fraternity experience the strength of this bond. May they hold up till the last inch of the track to be able to pass on what they have advantaged and may their progeny firmly grip this symbolic rod and run with it to its completion at the tape.
And may the proud Creator sit comfortably as a concerned audience in the vast stadium, relishing and applauding the victories that enact themselves before the Creator's enthusiastic eyes. The Creator's strength lie in prayer and wish, in the perseverance of upbringing, in the sacrifices, in her continued unrelenting faith and confidence. The contribution is no less binding. For the Creator has had the most difficult task of keeping it all together in that warm and cozy nest built for them all.
All hail the Mother then ! All praise the Father ! And may we as their descendants ever remain in praise, not just in their eyes, but in the eyes of the universe that we occupy.

Stress Management
There are days and then there are some days. Today was one of those. You wish for nothing to happen and nothing happens. It is not lethargy, or a lazy demeanor, its just that nothing happens. From the time you realize that the morning hour approaches, you begin to wonder what the day would be like. You look forward to nothing, for nothing is happening. So you wander aimlessly, look for something to be involved in, to pay attention to and nothing materializes..
And then you wonder why this is happening to you. Or maybe not. You just wonder. Wonder not just because your state demands it, but wonder what it is that is causing you to wonder. I mean, inane thoughts such as these begin to occupy the mind. A few flashes of the 'idle mind being the devils workshop' adage whips past like the road dividers on a fast moving car on the highway. They are those white dashes that separate lanes, that tell you to be inside your own tunnel, that warn you to indicate if you will be changing the dashes of one to the other. But nothing works. The answers to the questions do not come forthright. Its lay back time. Not out of any design, but just …
So … you go back to back to wind up your likeables that seem to come up rapidly. Is it all so casual and relaxed in its execution. Surely there must have been moments of discussion and design before the cameras of your own life that further rolls on…
Whatever … the outcome was incredible. Language then is the key. If the language is known and understood, conveying thought idea and content is but a mere formality. That then is the strongest point in any form of cinematic art which involves performance. Know the language, and all else shall fall into place.
And here then is what something … very pertinent and deserving
A lecturer , when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked,
"How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued,
"And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
As the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
We won't be able to carry on."
"As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home You can pick it up tomorrow."
"Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.
So, my friend… Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while."
My love to you in great abundance …

An Open Letter to Amitabh Bachchan and the Extended Family of his Blog,
An Open Letter to Amitabh Bachchan and the Extended Family of his Blog,
I cannot say if it will turn out to be bitter or sweet in my experience with ABFA-Kolkata Fan Club.
It has been two years since I officially joined the fan club, seems like they do not have any modus operandi or decorum. Their membership rates keep varying as per demands of the State Secretary, Sanjay Patodia and his Chosen Close Associates.
Problem No. 1 – I am still yet to get the official ID Card for myself, and I believe there is a special ID Card that is made only for those people who get the rights and credit to gain entry into any of the Residence of Mr Bachchan and Family as per discretion. Even that comes at a hefty price, quite understandable that because only a chosen screened and trustworthy few are granted such ID Cards that are used to gain entry into Bachchan's paradise. But what about the official ID Card, that is yet to be issued to me. First year fee to fan club membership was Rs 1500 and second year fee was 1200, (just look at the instability of membership fees.)
They are so reckless that the seems to have misplaced the application form and my two passport photos meant for the Fan Club Registration process.
Problem No. 2
Upon my persistent requests to ask Sanjay Patodia, the State Secretary to take me to Mumbai this October 11, came as a bolt to me, when some panel of their committee meeting decided on a donation of at least 15000 rupees towards the Temple of Big B (later came to know that such donations are used to recover the Temple Maintenance Costs and celebration Costs, quite understandable that is we fans who run this pomp and splendour show, but definitely not at a cost of someones valuable hard-earned money forced out, rather than asked for.)
On third consideration, the State Secretary reduces the donation from 15K to 10K and then to 5K, and why the 5k is required, to recover the costs of celebration on October 11 in Mumbai alone, Kolkata costs are to be born by all those members of the fan club who are in kolkata, the main point in my case is I am unemployed, without any earning or savings at all as on date and I am living under the support of my father, it would have been a different scenario if had the excess money to splurge on such fan following.
My several requests to Sanjay Patodia fell on deaf years, he keeps saying we want to celebrate his birthday in the best way come what may.
Sanjay was willing to make the special ID Card for me that can help me grant access and that too only after I had given him 5000 rupees by way of donation (rather celebration expenses) apart from the travelling expenses that I was willing to bear on my account. Does this not amount to some kind of Extortion in the name of Fan Following.
Now is it justified to be so very extravagant in show and grandeur just to please the media, that Kolkata Fan Club will have to put up the best celebration compared to other Fan club chapters of Big B across the world.
As far as I believe any fan club will want to put up its best show, but that should suit the pockets of each and every member of the fan club and the Donor Members as well, let the donation be flexible why enforce a fixed amount as decided by a committee Meeting and then state that only if the amount is donated you will be able to come with us to Mumbai to meet Amitabh Bachchan.
I am very hurt and disgusted by the way the ABFA Kolkata Fan Club operates.
It is very simple, if Big B is being treated a God, then what is the logic where one says I have prayed the best for him. It sounds real stupid and foolish, it is either you pray or you do not pray at all sincerely.
Will it be right on my part to create a disturbing situation at home or amongst my friends asking for such huge sum in order to go to meet Amitabh in Mumbai on october 11, they all will scorn me and laugh at me. I feel it would be right on my part not to spoil relationships at the home front and with my friends and well-wishers and just focus to be able to meet Amitabh, yes if my destiny and luck permits and my true-spirited fan following has any meaning, then Amitabh Bachchan will indeed give me an opportunity to meet.
My request to Amitabh Bachchan is, Please take a standpoint and speak to the State Secretary, Sanjay Patodia in order to stop such anomalies in the name of donation and celebration and try to encourage all to participate in their own limited ways, so that the fans are also happy and Amitabh the Actor also gets his due mileage.
I being an ardent follower, am being forced into thinking again, that have I done the right thing in spreading the Amitabh factor all this years of fan following,
I rather concentrate on my own life growth process, than rather crib and run around such stupid fan clubs, who do not have the proper decorum to maintain and run a fan club et al.
My sincere request to the Extended Family and Big B, please share your views on my blog site at http://anandhbhaskhar.wordpress.com on this sensitive but important issue.
I have only shared my experience with ABFA – Kolkata and have no intention to harm anybody's sentiments.
Last but not the least, it is the love and passion of a fan towards and actor and the actor's responsiveness towards the fan gains much more importance rather than worry about how much money should be pumped in by force or willingly to put the best face in celebrating Amitabh Bachchan's Birthday this October 11 in Mumbai.
P.S After seeing such negativity in the Fan Club at Kolkata, I have lost the drive and passion to do anything at all for ABFA – Kolkata in the near future, even though I admit that I have not done anything constructive, but I could have contributed in various ways.
For it is my home front that requires utmost attention first, and an Amitabh Bachchan Fan Club can wait….
You are most welcome to share your views on my wordpress site at http://anandhbhaskhar.wordpress.com
on this issue.
